I've eaten here a number of times over the past 5 or 6 years and NEVER been disappointed with the food or service. You don't come here for atmosphere. This is good solid working man and family fare with reasonable prices and generous portions. Today, I had the catfish. I have to say, I have almost never had better in my life of 7 decades - - including catfish I caught on my own docks and cooked at my old home along the banks of the NE Cape Fear River. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her flounder, too. They really know the importance of fresh and very hot oil to fry in. Wow! I got started before I thought about a better photo.

Great country cooking restaurant! Daily specials. Bright, open dining room. Some of the best cabbage I've ever had. Clean but scary ladies room (couldn't find the light switch). Beautiful stained glass pieces. Very attentive staff. Plenty of parking.. I'll be back. Had a good plate of flounder, a bit greasy but good. Had the pleasure of meeting the two Mr. Thompsons. Just love stopping here!

We stopped here while visiting the area. I was really impressed by the food and service! We both got cheeseburgers. We had to wait awhile, as they were busy, for our food, but it was worth the wait. Our waitress was very attentive and it was affordable, as well. Highly recommend!

Unbelievably good (and large) double burger plus fries and incredible sweet tea for a good price on Thursdays. Don’t know how I’ve never been here before today. 10/10 would go back again
